Night Photography

For this project, I aimed to capture photographs in urban locations, specifically in well-developed towns with a sizable population. I chose a nighttime setting as a personal challenge and to depict moments when our fast-paced lives slow down. I incorporated all the suggestions provided by Mr. O into the images. I increased the ISO to 800, set the aperture to f8, and adjusted the shutter speed, ranging from 1/5 to 1/30 seconds based on the lighting conditions at each location.

In terms of editing these final images, I added a slightly higher exposure/brightness and increased contrast to add depth. The role of lighting was crucial, considering that cameras do not perceive scenes exactly as the human eye does. Carrying a tripod proved essential, especially with slower shutter speeds, making the tripod my indispensable companion. This experience compelled me to grasp the functionality of a tripod. Although initially drawing attention as I walked around town with a tripod, it eventually ceased to bother me as I became engrossed in the adventure of capturing nighttime photography.

I express my gratitude to Mr. O for his guidance and for instilling in me the joy of photography. Now, I can confidently demonstrate to my brother that I have gained expertise in capturing compelling images.
